Exclamation UK Truggy Pro 2010 Discussion Thread

All,
As many of you will know, after 3 years, I announced my intention to stand down as BRCA 1/8th Truggy Chairman at the end of this year. This is mostly down to a number of things but most notable is; at last years BRCA AGM attendance at the National Exec meetings was made mandatory. This isn't a bad thing but unfortunately its just something I can't commit too; although this year I have attended all but 1 of the meetings (last week there was a meeting I couldn't attend)

Generally the BRCA Chair is moving the organisation to do more and more that will impact the sections more, including such things as a global online booking system etc which from my own personal viewpoint means more work for the sections rather than less.

Whilst I can see many benefits of this in my view I strongly believe that the BRCA Exec should be a thin organisation and the sections themselves should take charge of the details. I want to stress though that there are a bunch of excellent people at the BRCA who work hard to ensure that you are able to race/bash etc. I wish the BRCA all the best.

However, this is not the end of the great Truggy racing that you have participated in. Subject to interest from you the racers I plan to continue running a National Championship under the banner of UKTruggyPro. The format will be similiar to this years championship.

But it really depends on YOU the racers if we do this or not.

If there is enough interest then:

I will be looking to put together a 5/6 person comittee with the following positions:

Vice Chair
Media Secretary
Rules Secretary
Track & Safety Secretary North
Track & Safety Secretary South
Track & Safety Secretary Central

(Some of these roles could be joined but I want 5 people including the chairman on the commitee ideally).

The plan for next year is to hold 5 rounds similiar to this year at the following tracks:

HNMC, Clanfield, Deerdale, Coventry and NNRC.

Subject to the final decision of the commitee and the agreement of the tracks above. The above tracks have excellent Truggy membership and have contributed over the years immensely.

On Sunday I'll be speaking to as many of you as possible and if you think this is a good idea let us know. If you are interested in helping me keep running this excellent series again please contact me, note though, There will be a decent amount of work for you to do!

I'd like to thank the following people for their support over the past three years:

Kevin Alcock
John Geaves
Tony Drabble and the Deerdale Club
Dan Foulds
Martin Withey
Jamie Booth
Mike Craddock
Jon Dell
Darren Bloomfield
Jon Hazlewood
Colin Long
Apex Models
Blue Groove Racing
Custom Built Racing
MK Racing
Phil Mcmahon
Phil and Ali and the former NORC guys
Dez Chand
The MaxBashing Crew for keeping me running during the races!
Tony Bolwell and the Clanfield Club
Tim and the J28 Crew
Richard and the CMCC
Les and the J12 club
Jim and the guys at HNMC
Doug and the LMCC
Glyn and FMCC

And all the racers!

Regards,
Neil.

Re: UK Truggy Pro 2010 Discussion Thread

I'm just wondering that if we move away from the BRCA does that mean we are no longer insured by them?????

As far as the series goes, then go for it.

And if I'm honest, i'd like to see more than one 2 day event as must say that was the one I enjoyed the most - yes finding your own marshall was PITA but even so.......

Re: UK Truggy Pro 2010 Discussion Thread

as far as i can tell should be no different to any club style meet as long as we are all still brca members

no different to any of the sponsered events like proline ect
as long as we remain members we are insured

just boils down to not having time and finances to travel to the meetings where most of which discussed bears little on our series

Yes, as John says it would be like any other meeting.

Re: UK Truggy Pro 2010 Discussion Thread

Every years Truggy Nationals has been a joy to attend. The job that you do Neil i know takes a serious amount of your time and effort, but im sure i speak for all, and as other members have pointed out, without you then this series would not be the great event that it is each year.

Although like yourself and others, we have busy jobs to maintain in order to keep us living and enjoying our social time, i would be more than happy to assist you in any way possible.

Without the likes of yourself, and the support of people around you and the tracks then the 2010 nationals wouldnt be the highlight and anticipation to us all that we all thrieve on.

Im very glad you have decieded to keep on this coming year, as some us know how close you where to just giving it up.

Applause to you and roll on next year...see ya all on the 16th.

Andy Beaumont

Re: UK Truggy Pro 2010 Discussion Thread

Looks like I am going to have to buy another Truggy again

Glad to see my club get a mention in the track selection, I feel NNRC as a club has come on a long way in the last 12 months and with a few big races under our belt I feel that we can hold a National event like this and satisfy all the requirements.
