Really enjoyed my first national, way better than normal meetings. Definatly thumbs up for 2 day meetings. traveling down to the likes of clanfield for one day is a shame. would be great if they were all 2 dayers. Let me know when sign ups are open il be first on there!

Re: UK Truggy Pro 2010 Discussion Thread

After nearly a year in waiting Me and Joe J finally get the chassis we have been longing for. When the LRP truggy first came out it was obvious that it was a touch short compared to all the other makes. This was fine on tracks like deerdale which were not to bumpy and had lots of grip. Infact driven right it is probably quicker if not a little edgy. Then Tony Drabble of Custom Built Racing had a 15mm + chassis made. This transformed the car straight away and made it more stable. At +15mm it was still well short of the others. But we new it was the way to go. Me and Joe tried all over to find someone to make a chassis that didnt cost the earth. Then another deerdale member " Cowboy Steve " made a chassis that was 22mm longer and his car still turned and was amazing. We begged steve to make me and Joe one with the driveshaft extender.
We finaly got the a few days before the last national at coventry. All I can say is that the results spoke for themselves when I finnished 4th overall spoiling a losi 1,2,3,4,5 LOL

We then tested the XXL chassis at other clubs and were dominated at the hongnor cup. We posted the news on the Z-Car forums " thats what they are called in the US" and the owner was really intrested. He is good friends with SH in taiwan who actually manufacter the cars. They made him a 22mm chassis and he tested it in the USA. It work and now SH have made a pukka +22mm chassis that fits the Z-CAR/LRP S8-TX with a proper length brake linkage and driveshaft.

One shipment later and Me and Joe now have luvely chassis.

On my desk at work

Comaprison with a stock chassis. New longer one is actually 70 g lighter

Start of rebuild

Nearly there

Almost done

The Space

The new luvely SH alloy brakes and pads will stop the car on a micro millimeter.

Thanks go to Tony Drabble , Steve of deerdale and Paul Popov Z Car USA and the SH guys !!

Lets get ready to rumble !!!!
